About

IAble is here for you!

Maintain Benefits. Gain Financial Independence. Save and Invest Money.

IAble allows individuals with disabilities and their support systems the opportunity to save and invest their money for Qualified Disability Expenses on a tax-advantaged basis. All this without risking essential federal government benefits.

IAble is administered by the Iowa State Treasurer Roby Smith and was made possible following the passage of the federal Stephen Beck, Jr., Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act, which authorized states to create ABLE programs. The Iowa Treasurer’s Office launched the program in January of 2017.

IAble is a member of the National ABLE Alliance, a 19-member team that includes 18 states and the District of Columbia, which represents more than one-quarter of the nation’s ABLE-eligible population. By working together in a bi-partisan way, Alliance states can offer a best-in-class ABLE program to individuals with disabilities anywhere in the country.

Ascensus College Savings Recordkeeping Services, LLC serves as the program manager for the National ABLE Alliance and is responsible for day-to-day operations, investment advisory, recordkeeping and administrative services.
